FAQ's
About Our Program
What ages do you serve?
We welcome children from 2-5 years old, providing developmentally appropriate programs tailored to each age group’s unique needs and interests.
What is the Reggio Emilia approach?
The Reggio Emilia approach views children as capable, curious learners who construct knowledge through exploration and collaboration. We emphasize project-based learning, creative expression, and using the environment as the “third teacher” alongside peers and educators.
How much outdoor time do children have?
We embrace an indoor-outdoor flow throughout the day, allowing children to move freely between environments as their interests and learning unfold. Our outdoor environment is one of our most valued spaces, as we know that children learn best when they can connect to nature’s cycles and witness real life, real work happening outdoors.
Enrollment & Logistics
What are your hours of operation?
We’re open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Do you offer part-time or full-time options?
We offer both full-time and part-time enrollment options to meet diverse family needs.
What is your enrollment process?
Families begin by filling out a pre-enrollment form, then we schedule a tour to ensure our program aligns with your child’s needs. If a spot is available we then complete enrollment paperwork and gradually transition your child into our community.
How does the waitlist work?
As soon as a space opens up, we offer it to families on our waitlist based on the date they submitted their pre-enrollment application. This ensures a fair, first-come, first-served process for all families interested in joining our community.
What are your tuition rates?
Our Tuition page shows all the details based on the program you chose.
Health & Safety
What are your health and safety protocols?
We maintain rigorous health and safety standards, including regular sanitization, health screenings, and adherence to all state licensing requirements.
What is your sick policy?
If your child has a fever, cold, runny nose, cough or any flu-like symptoms you must keep your child at home until at least 24 hours after they are symptom and fever free without the use of fever-reducing medications. If your child has experienced vomiting or diarrhea, you must keep your child home for 48 hours after the last episode of the symptom. Young children under 5 years old often need more than 24-48 hours before returning to school. It is the responsibility of the parent to know that the child is well before being left at school. Staff will be doing daily health checks as children arrive. Any child who is feeling unwell and cannot fully engage in our program activities will be sent home for rest and recovery. We follow state guidelines for communicable diseases and notify families of any exposures as required.
How do you handle accidents or emergencies?
All staff are trained in first aid and CPR. We have clear emergency procedures and will contact parents immediately for any incidents requiring medical attention.
What about food allergies?
We are a nut free school and we take allergies seriously and work with families to create safe environments for all children. Please discuss any allergies during enrollment so we can develop appropriate safety plans.
Daily Care
Do you provide meals and snacks?
We provide healthy, organic snacks for am and pm. Lunch is provided by each family.
How do you handle nap time?
We provide quiet rest time for all children in a calm environment. Non-sleepers enjoy quiet activities while respecting those who need rest.
What should my child wear to school?
We recommend comfortable play clothing, weather-appropriate clothing that can get dirty during outdoor exploration and creative activities.
How do you communicate with parents?
Our primary communication happens through the Brightwheel app, where we share weekly newsletters and important updates. We also schedule regular phone calls and conferences to discuss your child’s progress and address any specific topics.
We’re always here for questions or concerns. You can reach us through the Brightwheel app, email, or phone anytime you need support or would like to talk about your child’s care and development.
Educational Approach
How do you prepare children for kindergarten?
Through play-based learning, we naturally develop pre-academic skills like problem-solving, collaboration, creativity, and independence. Children gain confidence and love of learning that serves them throughout their educational journey.
Do you teach letters and numbers?
Academic concepts emerge naturally through meaningful projects and play. We support each child’s individual readiness and interest in literacy and numeracy within engaging, hands-on contexts.
How do you handle challenging behaviors?
We use positive guidance strategies, helping children understand emotions and develop problem-solving skills. We work closely with families to maintain consistent approaches between home and school.
What makes your program different from other preschools?
Our unique combination of Reggio Emilia principles, extensive outdoor learning, and deep respect for children’s natural curiosity creates an environment where children thrive as confident, creative thinkers and collaborators.
Can we schedule a tour?
Absolutely! We encourage families to visit and experience our environment firsthand. Contact us to schedule a personalized tour and consultation.
